DUFFIELD CARNIVAL 2021 WILL NOT TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY 26th JUNE 2021

Unfortunately, due to the likelihood of ongoing restrictions around public gatherings, we don’t feel that in will be possible to hold a CARNIVAL in June 2021.
We hope to be able to organise some sort of celebratory event later in the year.
It will be an opportunity for village families to get together rather than an entertainment event. It will NOT be a Carnival.

The event proposed for Summer 2021 is a one off, free to enter (but donations welcomed!), family ‘pop up’ Party in the Park/Meet Up on the Meadow.

The event will be Covid compliant, and should restrictions be too severe we will cancel even at the last minute.

The proposed date is Saturday 24th July, afternoon/early evening, say 2pm-7pm, exact timing tbc.

Duffield Community Association (DCA) Carnival week 2021 is cancelled.

The Carnival Crew sadly must report that the Duffield Carnival week planned for the end of June is cancelled, due to the possibility of ongoing Coronavirus restrictions. We are disappointed that we will not be organising the week of events that are enjoyed by so many. We feel for our Suppliers whom we are turning away just when many of them will be facing multiple cancellations.

If social distancing restrictions continue to be relaxed, we may be able to organise some celebration on a smaller scale later in the year, if there is a demand. We will be looking to stage the next Carnival week in June 2022, culminating with Carnival Day on Saturday June 25th. The Crew’s aim would be to involve those parties who had agreed to be part of the 2020 Carnival, if they were so minded.
